Product Overview

Traditional toilet floor fixing kits present well-documented challenges, especially on modern flooring surfaces. Long screws can damage hidden services under timber floors, while cement bedding on concrete is both time-consuming and difficult to remove during future maintenance. Instead of screwing the toilet to the floor with large coach bolts and worrying about how to secure a toilet to the floor without damaging pipes.

The BFL toilet pan floor fixing kit offers a practical, engineered solution to these problems. It ensures secure installation and allows for easy future removal, so you’re not left wondering how to fix a toilet bowl to the floor all over again, making it suitable for both new builds and maintenance projects.

How it Works

Our toilet pan fixing kits are DIY, simple to use, 100% recyclable, adjustable & re-usable.

BFL house builder product awards 2016: finalist.

Current WC pan direct to floor fixing on Wood & Concrete floors.

Traditional fixings damaging under-floor pipework
  • Wood Floor has to be pre-drilled before the plumber can fix the pan with the large, coach type fixing bolt.

  • Wood Floors are 25mm thick, the long fixing screws protrude through the floor by as much as 40mm causing damage to pipes & wiring unseen under the floorboards. This is a classic example of how not to fasten a toilet to the floor.

  • Concrete floors, the floor requires a hole drilling with an 8mm masonry drill to a depth of 40mm to accommodate the plug for the fixing bolt to secure the pan.

  • Due to the difficulty and time required, to complete the job, plumbers fix the pan permanently on a bed of sand & cement. Anyone wondering how to secure a toilet to a concrete floor without screws will appreciate how the BFL wc fixing kit avoids this messy approach.

Dificulty drilling without fixings using masonry drill

These problems are typical of all installations.

BFL 21st century re-invention

  • BFL toilet pan floor fixing kits are the only ones that facilitate the simple removal and refixing of a pan for repairs and maintenance. Or decorative improvement i.e. wall tiling, or floor covering.

  • The real cost savings come when installing new pans and future repairs and maintenance and or decorative improvement. Simply remove the pan, complete the job and replace it—no need to figure out again how to fix the toilet pan to the floor.

  • Simply remove the pan, complete the job and replace it, on any floor surface in any building environment and with minimum fuss or mess, first time every time.

  • None of these benefits are possible using any other toilet pan fixing kit.

BFL adjustable toilet pan fixing

Testimonials

“As soon as we saw the product, we realised immediately the pan fixing could lead to a significant cost saving for MCC in the future. It was site trialled on the basis that there would be no increase in the cost of fixing toilet pans. The result was Housing Services specifies BFL toilet pan fixings as standard, and are specified in the brief for the Decent Homes Program”

-

Steve Gill

Head of Responsive Repairs: Manchester City Council [Almo’s]

To date, MCC [ALMO’s] have used 6,300 BFL pan fixings.

“We have a policy of specifying materials which reduce future maintenance costs. We decided to try it and found that the real pay back comes when the pan as to be removed and re-fixed this becomes simple, quick, clean and more cost-effective. A further benefit is it helps to significantly reduce the number of damaged pans. As a result of this KHT now specifies the BFL toilet pan fixings for responsive repairs, void properties and the Decent Homes program”

-

Paul Wignall

Service Manager: Knowsley Housing Trust [Vivarc]

To date, KHT have used 2,250 pan fixings.

“We have a policy of reducing our spend in the long run. We realized immediately that the BFL toilet pan fixing, although only a small item, could save us a lot of money in the future. For the trial, we decided to specify it for the Chapel Street bathroom refurbishment, which involved 262 dwellings [Decent Homes Program]. The WC pan fixing has met the claims made for it and there is no reason that it won’t deliver the lifetime savings expected. Based on the trial at Chapel Street, the BFL pan fixing will be specified for the future.”

-

New Prospect Housing [Salix Homes]

“I have fitted the BFL WC pan fixing on the timber floor using the FD2 side fixing kit not only was it easier than using the fasteners supplied with the WC but the finished fixing is considerably firmer. I think the spacer connecting the two blocks is a brilliant idea as it ensures that the blocks are at the perfect distance apart.”
